About me

Dear dogs and cat owners I'm Katka from Nová Paka currently working at the local shelter, (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8-12) where I’ve been also a member and volunteer since 2020. I have experience with caring for various dogs with different temperaments, including the challenging ones. Working with both dogs and horses has taught me to respond promptly to situations and, more importantly, to prevent them. I've also spent few years in England, where I was caring for a 7-month-old Whippet named Nero and a 3-month-old Cockapoo puppy named Snoopy (as an extra job). I've also been around horses since childhood, which has given me strength, and ability to handle even large, strong dogs on a leash. I recently adopted a 2-year-old dog named Fousek, who currently only gets along with female and smaller dogs. As safety is my priority, I don’t insist on bringing him along. However, upon request and under supervision, I can introduce Fousek to your dog and include him in walks or watch your pet at my home. I prefer to walk dogs on a leash for safety and also because I understand that meeting off-leash dogs can be uncomfortable for some people.
I offer care, walking, or pet-sitting for your dog or cat while you’re away. References can be provided from the management of the Nová Paka shelter upon request. I have a driver’s license (B) and own a car (a VW Touran with a spacious trunk). Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions.

What I would like to know about the of the dog/pet

As I mentioned there are various dogs with usually unknown history and possible traumas in the shelter. However I wouldn't feel comfortable caring for a really problematic dog. I'd like to know following informations about your dog:
Name, Age and sex
Where does your dog come from/his past (adopted/bought as a puppy/other?)
Is your dog castrated?
Does he have any fears/trauma?
How long walk is your dog used to?
What and how often does your dog eat?
Does he get along with other animals/and what about children in case we meet some when outside.
Breed is not important, character is.
