Dear parents,
My name is Nicol, and I am currently a Master's student specializing in special education, with a focus on intellectual disabilities and autism, as well as early childhood education. In my free time, I love staying active and engaged through sports and volunteering at a para-swimming club, where I work as an assistant in the water. This passion for an active lifestyle carries over into my babysitting approach as well. I truly enjoy spending time with children, engaging them in movement games and creative art activities. I always make sure to approach each child with respect and understanding, recognizing their unique personalities and individual development.
I have a great deal of experience working with children who have special needs. For example, I have participated in day camps, where I served as an assistant for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). During the school year, I also provide Czech language tutoring, mainly for children with specific learning disabilities.
In 2023, I had the wonderful opportunity to participate in a 4-month Erasmus+ program in the UK, where I worked at a Czech school in Bristol. During this time, I created programs and cooked meals for a group of children aged 1 to 5 years old. I also had the chance to work closely with a boy diagnosed with ASD, developing materials to support his progress in his second language, which for him was Slovak. Additionally, I gained valuable experience in a mainstream primary school where I completed a practice placement.
