Lukáš V.
Hello there, I’m Lukas and I love dogs, always have.
I was born in Czechoslovakia but ever since I got a postcard from Manhattan (Brooklyn Bridge with Manhattan behind) I knew that’s where I was heading. I even dropped out of high school (something unspeakable because my life had been mapped out for me to follow in the footsteps of the fairly successful chief doctors in our family).
I was not into that. I was very bohemian, creative, and artsy. I only had three main goals. Move to NYC, learn English and work all the jobs in a small office Broadway theater.
I left for my new life pretty early and throughout the next years I’ve worked different jobs, finished high school, decided to start a business because I figured if I can build it up, then I can have a passive income to do what I loved to do- theater.
I went on to a college, through volunteering got my foot in a theater world. From there it was a blast. I started reading plays for the next theater season, I got to work with actors as casting director and eventually directed two plays. I was also interested in film heavily and was one of the committee members for an international film festival.
Those were my greatest years and the most productive ones too, being the face of my business, directing/rehearsing plays, attending college, and commuting roughly 150 miles almost every day. As an actor it took me almost a decade to feel (kinda) ready to start castings in Hollywood. However, I found out I preferred theater 🎭 more as a director (although, I had a great time being in the ensemble of the play “Bent” by Martin Sherman).
In recent times, I have been going through a personal reinvention. I stayed here in Czechia because of our aging parents. Our mom sadly passed this January. I feel as though my work here is done-ish and I’m planning/creating my next chapter. That which will be much calmer, softer, and peaceful. I have some health issues (don’t worry, no viruses and no bacteria) thus I had to completely change my life. But that’s the essence of this life, isn’t it? The only constant is change.
PS: I’m also ready to help if you need with seniors. Plenty of experiences in that department. References per request.
Be well,
Lukas
Hello there, I’m Lukas and I love dogs, always have. Our family has been running on Dachshunds since the 70s. I got my first pup when I was 10 years old and another one a year later (yeah, I must have been a really good son :-) I loved my first two Dachshunds. One of them even had puppies, mainly because one of my sister had wanted one. She got pregnant instead and decided to keep the baby rather than the puppy. Shocking.
Anyway, my life with these two beloved dogs was cut short since I moved to the U.S. fairly early but I was coming to visit. I had a Lab named Cody in California (joint custody) followed by two Schnauzers (helping my roommate). During those years we had more Dachshunds here in Czechia.
A part of my then business was to also walk/dog-sit my clients’ dogs. It was very refreshing since we had a designated beach plot for dogs to freely run n’ play. The dogs (and myself especially) loved the beach. We would also walk to dogs’ parks, although I preferred taking them to a park or on a trip.
Right now I’m back in Czechia and we currently have … yes, you’ve guessed it right, a tiny-ish Dachshund girl and for the first time ever a Yorkshire boy. They love each other, the play, they fight, they make up, and they fight again. It’s their fave form of a play. Their personalities are very different except one and that is LOVE. They enjoy being in the backyard and live our big terrace for sunbathing.
I’m open to walk other dogs, dog-sit, play with puppies. One of my fave routes is a loop around the Vltava and Malše rivers (around 4 1/2 miles). I also like to walk in the Stromovka park.
Why do I like to walk other people’s dogs you may ask.
#1. I truly love dogs, they’ve been a part of my life since I was a little
#2. Our two buggers prefer our backyard.
#3. I need/want to lose the weight I’ve gained.
I have one rule and that is we have to be a good fit for each other.
