I have been a dog lover all my life. Growing up with dogs, I have gained a wealth of experience. I used to attend dog camps, regularly visited training grounds, and dedicated my free time to dogs. It wasn't just about having a dog at home and being a dog owner. In my hometown, I used to walk my neighbors' dogs and did some training with them within my abilities. However, I generally don't interfere with the owners' training methods and focus on providing fun for the dogs, such as playing fetch, going for walks, and lots of petting and cuddling.

I live in a house with a large garden and own an Australian Shepherd (a one-year-old spayed female) who is absolutely non-confrontational but has boundless energy. She loves other dogs and would happily play with them all day, which I see as a benefit for socialization. Your dog would not be alone and would have a companion for playing and walks. I live in Lochkov, where we have many walking trails around. There are also more distant areas suitable for off-leash runs. The garden has plenty of interesting nooks to explore, lots of trees, and a terrace where dogs can take shelter in case of rain. Our dog also has free access to the house.

I definitely prefer a dog that is accustomed to being around other dogs and is non-confrontational, or at least indifferent, so they can be manageable. The dog should also be somewhat responsive to basic commands, especially recall. If not, I would adapt the walking and other activities to prevent any risks. I don't mind the dog's age or breed; I can take care of both young dogs and seniors because, in the end, all dogs primarily need comfort, love, and attention.
