About me

I used to take care of my grandpa. He was a great guy and loved to share experiences from his time in the army and from where he grew up. He was really interested in all the places I'd traveled to, and what the local customs and geography were like. Basically, he always loved to ask about everything he'd never seen or experienced himself. Years passed, and one of my parents became his guardian. Grandpa was in a wheelchair because his legs hadn't served him well for a long time, and with age, other health issues appeared. My parents occasionally needed to go away for a few days, so I took care of Grandpa. I kept him company, cooked for him, chatted with him, played cards, helped him get his legs onto the bed for an afternoon nap, and when needed, I called an ambulance for him and went with him to get his catheter changed. I felt sorry for him, but I was glad he had someone from the family he could trust by his side.
Grandpa has now gone to join Grandma up above. I miss his perspective on life and all the stories from his life. If your grandparents or parents live far away and you know they're struggling, I'd be happy to help them out occasionally. I realize that humans are social creatures and that sometimes we can just simply feel lonely.
It seems I might have chosen correctly at 15 when deciding on my high school specialization. I graduated in socio-educational humanitarian activities.
