Nicole má zkušenosti s hlídáním dětí v několika rodinách, a to už od jednoho roku věku, včetně sourozenců. Hlídat může nárazově i dlouhodobě. Děti běžně vyzvedává ve škole, chodí s nimi ven nebo tráví čas společnými hrami doma.

Kromě hlídání se věnuje úklidu Airbnb bytů. Je velmi pořádná a zakládá si na čistotě. Ve volném čase se stará o svého pejska, ráda chodí do posilovny, navštěvuje kavárny a cestuje. Nicole se domluví anglicky a španělsky.

How Nicole handles everyday situations

You are about to look after 5 years old Anna from Prague. She has been going to kindergarten for a year and her mum and dad need to have a rest and go for the trip together on Saturday. You know Anna has been looked after only by her mum's sister, she would not last long for the book and enjoys any movement the most. The parents won't have any special requirements for the daily schedule leaving it completely up to you. What is your common Saturday going to look like?

My ideal Saturday with Anna would be active, fun and adapted to her personality 😊 Since she enjoys movement, I would plan outdoor time in a park or playground where she can run and explore. I would also include creative activities like drawing or simple games, and a calm moment for lunch and rest. I like to follow the child’s energy, so I would stay flexible while making sure she feels safe, happy and comfortable throughout the day.

You are at the sandpit with Anna enjoying not only playing at climbing frames but also making sand cakes. Anna is sitting calmly trying to prepare a confectionery pleasure. She is holding a sifter in her hand "sugaring" the sand cake. Suddenly, a little girl approximately at the same age comes to her, takes the sifter and is going to play with it herself. Anna is really unhappy and looks as she is going to cry. How are you going to solve the situation?

I would first comfort Anna and acknowledge her feelings, letting her know it’s okay to feel upset. Then I would calmly approach the other child and explain that Anna was using the sifter, encouraging sharing or taking turns. I would guide both children to find a simple solution, like using it together or setting turns. My goal is to support Anna emotionally while also teaching respectful communication and cooperation in a gentle way.

You have agreed with the parents they would come back home in the evening to make their daughter fall asleep. Half an hour before they should arrive, the desperate mother is calling you she has been stuck in traffic on the highway and they will certainly not be able to arrive on time. There is going to be a serious delay and there is nobody to substitute for them. Anna is quite tired of the all-day rollicking and she is asking for her parents. How are you going to cope with the situation?

I would stay calm and reassure both the mother and Anna. I would comfort Anna, acknowledging that she misses her parents, and gently explain that they are on their way. I would start a calm bedtime routine, like washing up, reading a short story or quiet play, to help her relax. If needed, I would keep communication open with the parents to update them. My priority is to make Anna feel safe, supported and ready to fall asleep peacefully even with the change of plan.
