About me

My name is Nancy, and I have extensive experience with caring for dogs. In our household, we've always had dogs. Personally, I have had two mixed-breed dogs: a Schnauzer-Poodle mix and a Collie-German Shepherd mix. Both lived to the respectable ages of 16 and 15 years. My most recent experience was raising a Golden Retriever puppy named Chevy for Helppes, an organization that trains assistant and guide dogs. I had Chevy for 9 months, during which I taught him socialization skills, from meeting other dogs to visiting museums and participating in various social activities. He quickly learned basic commands and later mastered retrieving objects on command as a future assistance dog.

How are they used to walking? Do they have favorite places or routes?
Are there any specific instructions for feeding or care?
How do they react to strangers or new situations?
Is there anything else I should know about their behavior that would help me take better care of them?
As for breeds, there is no specific breed that I cannot handle, but it is good to know if your dog has any particular needs or behaviors that I should be aware of.
